New Club Bylaws Approved

The Club membership has completed its vote to approve or disapprove the proposed Phoenix Illini Club bylaws.  Fifty five of the Club's 102 active (paid-up dues) members participated in the vote.   The result was (55 – 0), unanimously approving the bylaws.
In accordance with this result, the Phoenix Illini Club Board of Directors issued a resolution to immediately implement the bylaws for governing the Club.  Click Here to view the bylaws.

A key provision of the bylaws is to expand and improve the organization of the Board.  Duties for five Board officers have been defined.  Office terms and an annual election process are also defined. The expected benefits include:

• Promoting a regular rotation of new people and new ideas to lead the Club.
• Established terms will help officers plan the length of their commitment.
• The five positions will distribute the workload effectively within the Board.

The next step for the Board will be pursuing nominations for all the Board offices, as described in the bylaws.  Details will follow.

Member participation is vital for the success of the Club.  Become active with the Club.  Consider serving on the Board.  if you are not an active (paid-up dues) member, please join or renew your membership.   It’s easy and the annual dues are only $20.  The dues revenue is essential to basic operation of the Club.
